Dr. Martinez is originally from Maine. She attended the University of Vermont where she received her Bachelor's of Science degree in molecular genetics and was given the Outstanding Senior in Molecular Genetics Award. After graduation, she worked in molecular genetics research in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Harvard/Mass. General Hospital.
From there, she attended New York Medical College where she became a medical doctor. During that time, she spent a year living in Argentina to travel, learn Spanish, and teach English.
Her residency training was completed in adult psychiatry at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, at the time a training center of Columbia University, now affiliated with the Mount Sinai College of Medicine.
Previously, she worked in psychiatric emergency rooms and as a psychiatrist within primary care clinics in New York City until pursuing private practice. Most recently, she provided psychiatric services through telepsychiatry in Kansas.
Dr Martinez is board-certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in adult psychiatry and is licensed to practice in Florida and Kansas.
